Greetings from the Department of Chemistry. The fact that you are reading this page is an indication that you may be interested in pursuing a B.A. or B.S. degree in chemistry. We feel that our program provides excellent opportunities for the undergraduate student of today who is interested in a career in chemistry.
We have a department of outstanding faculty, each of whom is dedicated to mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students and to helping them achieve scientific maturity. In addition to required classroom and laboratory courses, options exist for doing research in exciting areas of mainstream chemistry such as bioanalytical, bioinorganic, bio-organic and biophysical chemistry to synthetic and catalytic inorganic and organic chemistry, to femtosecond laser and theoretical chemistry.
We are very proud of our tradition of excellence in teaching and research and of our many former students who have gone on to highly successful careers in chemistry. We wish you success in your endeavors at KU!
