Education

After earning my bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University I worked as a chemical analyst for a phosphorus chemical production facility.  After three years I decided to return to graduate school at the University of Kansas.  I initially started in molecular biosciences before transferring to neuroscience.

Research interests

During my graduate studies, I designed and assembled an apparatus that merges microdialysis and behavioral measures.  This apparatus was used to successfully monitor brain dialysate from the rat brain striatum while simultaneously measuring the animal’s behavioral response.  I recently received a Ph.D. in neuroscience and I am continuing to merge behavioral and neurochemical analysis using cyclic voltammetry in Dr. Michael Johnson’s lab.
