Scheduling Instructions
After completing and submitting a new User Application you may begin to schedule instrument time.
If this is your first time you will need to register as a first time user by clicking on the “Click here to register” and submitting the required information. Once you have registered you will have access to “My Control Panel” and you will receive an e-mail confirming your registration. You will not be able to schedule instrument time until the administrator enters the appropriate permissions based upon your training. You will be notified when this is accomplished. Instruments you have permission to use will appear under “My Permissions” on “My Control Panel” page.
Prior to receiving rights to use IIL instruments you must schedule a training session for that instrument or verify your skill level with the laboratory director. Each user may sign up for training sessions as soon as they have registered. Training is available Wednesdays or Fridays at least one week in advance. The training session appears as tentative and the user must wait for verification from the trainer before the session is confirmed. Training by special appointment is available but should be requested separately through e-mail with the scheduling administrator. Once training is complete instrument permissions will be granted and will appear. To schedule training select “Bookings”, and “view schedule” either, “IIL Training Wednesdays” or “IIL Training Fridays” and sign up for a session of one to fours hours depending upon your current familiarity with the instrument.
To schedule instrument time select “Bookings” and “view schedule”, “default”. You will see all listed instruments, but only those the user has permissions to use will be active, all others will be grayed out. Select the date and time you wish to schedule for the instrument and you will be sent an e-mail reminder. A list of your reservations will appear on “My Control Panel” page. Please keep in mind that undergraduate classes have priority so instrument access may be restricted or select times blocked out.
